Tsakane, Ekurhuleni – October 28, 2025. The Mkhwanazi Foundation proudly hosted the Esihlahleni Youth Career Day ’25 on Friday, 17 October at the Jehovah Shammah, Tsakane branch, bringing together more than 350 learners from Mamellong Comprehensive, J.E. Malepe, Phumulani, and Geluksdal Secondary Schools for a transformative career exploration experience.
The event offered township youth a unique opportunity to engage with industry experts, academics, and entrepreneurs, while exploring diverse career pathways and gaining practical insights to shape their futures.
Mrs Nthabiseng Nozizwe Mkhwanazi, CEO of the Mkhwanazi Foundation, remarked, “Esihlahleni Youth Career Day is a promise that every young person’s potential matters. We are committed to creating spaces where learners from township communities can see beyond their immediate circumstances and realise that their dreams are not only valid but fully attainable through exposure, mentorship, and purposeful action”.
The day unfolded in three key phases: inspiring talks and presentations highlighting civic leadership, innovation, cultural identity, and education; interactive exhibitions from universities and organizations such as Tech4All and Boston Media House; and reflective sessions emphasizing hope and purpose.
By connecting learners with role models and career resources, the initiative aims to break cycles of poverty and nurture leadership, entrepreneurship, and educational advancement within township communities.
